The American Association of School Librarians has announced the 2018 Social Media Superstars.
I am very honored to be a Leadership Luminary Finalist with other wonderful teacher librarian friends and colleagues. Thank you AASL for including me in this category. This nomination means so much to me as I constantly work to be the best leader I can be within the world of school libraries and education, and to empower others through social media and in person to be amazing leaders and foster change for every child, teacher and family they work with everyday.
Now until April 14, I encourage you to visit the Social Media Superstars site where you can read about and learn from 17 school librarians who are fostering community and change through the use of social media within their libraries, communities and throughout the world.
After you learn about each one, please take a few moments to endorse the librarians by sharing the story of how they have inspired and supported you and others. The endorsements are private and only visible to the Social Media Recognition Committee. Anyone from the school library community and public can share.
As you are reading the profiles, make sure you visit their social media platforms and follow as you grow your PLN through them and others.
You can leave your endorsements here.
On April 30 at 6:00pm CST, the Superstars will be announced as a way to culminate the month-long celebration of School Library Month.
All of these library leaders and social media superstars have influenced me, as so many others within our profession have too. Thank you again AASL and those who nominated me for this amazing recognition. It truly means the world to me.
Happy School Library Month, friends. You are all making a difference in libraries, schools, communities and to children. Let's continue to create change and share it with the world! You are my inspiration!
