In the Capstone Virtual Summer Camp Adventure, there are six bi-weekly Where Will You Go This Summer? themes that include a choice board and set of 20 FREE Capstone Interactive eBooks for each.
And this summer, we have a new addition to each...Our Virtual Summer Camp Adventure Featured Capstone Characters!

The six bi-weekly choice boards include...

Every week, starting May 27, 2024, we will be adding a special Virtual Stickerboard that StickTogether created around each weekly theme

All students will be able to collaborate together to complete these weekly Virtual Stickerboards.  The images they reveal are amazing and our kids will love this wonderful global activity.
As the students and families use the choice boards and need help, there is a Family Help button on each choice board slide and...
This document includes How To Use The Virtual Camp Adventure With Your Children This Summer and...
...Directions For Using The Virtual Camp Adventure Choice Boards.
I always create special bookmarks to give our students and families as we get ready for the summer.
You will find this years bookmark that I created in Google Slides here

I get the bookmarks printed at Vista Print. The image of the bookmark on Slides 1 and 2 fits perfectly into the 2 x 6 template. You will find the link to the Vista Print bookmarks here.

I hope all of the students and families have a special summer visiting Our Virtual Summer Camp Adventure.  I can't wait to see and hear all of the different ways it is used and what is learned, read, and created from this amazing summer experience.

Ignite The Magic Of Reading With AR Popups From Our Friends At LP Bookspace!

I am so excited to share one of my favorite new digital literacy tools, Living Popups Bookspace, from our friends at LP Bookspace
As shared on the LP Bookspace site, Living Popups Bookspace transforms reading from a chore to an immersive journey.  Through the magic of Augmented Reality, not only do stories come to life, they also engage and enhance learning comprehension.
With these easy steps, you can set your students on the path to a successful reading adventure today with LP Bookspace!
In fact, we saw first hand how engaging and exciting LP Bookspace is for students as we tried out the app with several of their books at my school.
Our students LOVED how the books came to life and the...
...animations and character speaking brought the students into the stories and they wanted to read even more.
It was so rewarding for them to interact with the augmented reality from the books and our students definitely were drawn into the stories and work with LP Bookspace.

I know you will want to check our LP Bookspace for your school community too, friends.
You can find all of the information about LP Bookspace here including...
...the ever growing library of AR reading experiences here.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the Living Popups, and I know your students and teachers will love them too.

The Next Step In Weeding: Conduct An Inventory! Follow Along As We Weed Our Library and Share Your Tips, Tricks & Resources For Weeding Too!

Our students and teachers are out for the summer and we are working on wrapping up things in our library.  As I shared a few weeks ago, we are weeding, taking inventory and looking at our collection through analysis and feedback from students and teachers.  I am sharing our process through this blog series.

You will find the first post of this series, The First Steps In Weeding Your Library! Follow Along As We Weed Our Library and Share Your Tips, Tricks & Resources For Weeding Too, here

The first step was to go through the shelves taking off damaged books and multiple copies that are not circulating.
The next step is to conduct an inventory in the Back Office of Destiny Library Manager. You can use a library inventory to review and evaluate the items, while identifying any gaps in your collection.

Let me show you how to get started.
Login to Destiny, click on Admin at the top, and go down to Inventory on the left hand side.
You can follow this step-by-step guide, Conduct an Inventory in Library Manager, from Follett, to conduct and complete the inventory.

In the third post of this series, we will take a close look at the inventory report and what we do with it now.
Let's continue to use this Padlet to share our weeding tips, tricks and procedures we have for our libraries.  We can share advice, resources, tools, etc..

I hope you find these posts and tips helpful, friends.  I can't wait to hear the weeding processes and procedures you have for your library collections too.
