The first thing is Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
On NEA's website you will find that this is the 17th year for Read Across America Day so we really need to celebrate!
My friend and one of the 1st grade teachers at Van Meter, Deb Saylor, just sent me the two pictures of her cats Desi and Lucy. They are definitely ready to celebrate. She used the Dr. Seuss Camera app to dress up her cats. Tomorrow we will use the app to catch some Van Meter Cats in the Hat too.
You can find lots of Dr. Seuss apps from Oceanhouse Media....And they are even on sale until March 6th.
Just go to this link and check them out.
There are so many awesome things for young people, teachers, and parents to check out on Seussville. You will find videos, books, games, characters, news, and of course wonderful information about Dr. Seuss himself.
I added this website to each one of the elementary webmixes and our main elementary page in Symbaloo.
You can print off this really fun poster for tomorrow and put it up around the school and library.
I love this poster too....Also available on NEA's website.
On the NEA website, you will find the official Read Across America page and information. It highlights places that are celebrating, ways to celebrate and resources to help you celebrate. Check out the Read Across America Facebook page for updates and news.
Our celebration tomorrow includes art work, apps, websites and connecting with authors, illustrators, and other classrooms around the country too. We will be sharing on the blog about tomorrow and the entire week since it is LitWorld World Read Aloud Day.
Have a FUN day and we can't wait to hear how you celebrate too.
