I love doing special things for our students and families to get ready for summer reading and learning.
In addition to OurVirtual Camp Adventure choice board bookmarks and local library summer reading information that we will send home with our students during the last week, this year I wanted to send a fun and interactive postcard to each child or family at their home too.
I did a little research and found that VistaPrint had the best deal on 4 x 6 postcards with postage. We can even upload our mailing list and have all addresses added too before they are sent by the United Postal Service. You will find the link here.Next, I started a Google Slide and changed the custom size to 4 x 6. I used the slide to build our summer library choice board, including images, information and hyperlinking everything. I added a bit.ly at the bottom that would take them to the choice board. I also created a QR code in QR Code Monkey and added it to that square space in the middle.
In this Google Slide, you will find a template you can use to create a postcard. This will allow you to make a copy and then add or delete anything you'd like to make it for your library and community.
When everything is all laid out on the Google Slide, you can just take a screen shot and upload it into VistaPrint for the front of the postcard.
For the back of the postcard, I made sure to meet all of the guidelines set up in VistaPrint.
I created two different templates for everyone to use. You can find them at the Google Slide link I shared above.
Since I am having VistaPrint mail them, I didn't need the lines to write anything. I had to allow a bit more room at the very bottom of the back for them to stamp.
I also wanted to share the different choice board resources I added to our postcard.
You will find the Capstone Virtual Summer Camp Adventure choice boards, family letter and other information here. The Elementary Coding Choice Boards here in this post.
The Let's Listen To A Podcast choice boards here.
And Our Virtual Makerspace can be found here in this post.
Our kids love exploring and researching all kinds of things they are passionate about in PebbleGo,
PebbleGo Next, and in the......Capstone Interactive eBooks so I included direct links to these resources for our them to have all summer long.
I am excited to share these with our kids and families this summer. I hope they have a wonderful summer reading, learning and spending lots of time doing what they love.
