A COVID-19 At-Home Learning Activity With PebbleGo and Buncee!

This morning I shared the new PebbleGo Science COVID-19 article with some of my little friends from Van Meter in an online meeting.

This PebbleGo article is a wonderful way to talk to our students and our own children about COVID-19.  Capstone has provided the information in a way all students and families understand with great photographs, defining terms like Pandemic, including a video and graphic about washing hands and...
...even provided two more articles under the Read More tab.

After sharing the article with the 2nd graders, I wanted to find a lesson plan to share with families in case they wanted to have more learning and conversation about the topic.
I was excited to see that the Featured PebbleGo Lesson Plan on the PebbleGo Lessons and Resources page was Stopping the Spread of Germs.
This easy to follow, detailed Lesson/Activity plan gives families and teachers everything they need to do this at home.
Students, along with their families, can read the PebbleGo COVID-19, Germs and Viruses articles and fill out the research sheet. This will bring up questions and conversation, which is important during this time.
I love the place they can create a sign for healthy habits.  Kids will love creating something here and you can hang it up for the whole family to see.
I also thought of another activity they could do online after reading the page about protecting yourself and others in the COVID-19 article.
They can go to Buncee and use the digital animations and stickers around hand washing and staying healthy to create a poster to share online or print off.
You can sign up for free access to Buncee right now and will find lots of helpful resources on their Remote Learning site here.

If you haven't signed up for FREE PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next and Capstone Interactive access, you can do so at this link too.
I can't wait to see what you do with your students this week!

Join me later this week for another #ShannonsScoop with Capstone.
