Check Out The Dr. Seuss Resources, Activities and FUN For Read Across America Day On March 2 & All Throughout The Year!

One of the best celebrations of reading, friendship and fun each year is Read Across America Day sponsored by the NEA!

This year we are going to celebrate on March 2, 2016....which just happens to be very close to World Read Aloud Day on February 24.
On the NEA website, there is a place just for Read Across America 2016.  You will find Artwork and Downloadables....
and lots of Promotional Materials, Media Tips, and Fact Sheets which will help you plan and conduct a successful Read Across America event within your school community, library and classroom too.
There are even wonderful Certificates of Seussational Achievement certificates and...
lots of ideas for this special event.

Bringing Dr. Seuss and all of the terrific books, activities and resources into the library and classroom is one of my favorite things to do.  We all love Dr. Seuss and with this special event, it is the perfect time to really let the books, activities and resources shine!

Here are a few of my favorite online Dr. Seuss resources......
Dr. Seuss Bubble Generator.....This website lets you pick the Dr. Seuss character you would like and then create a speech bubble attached to it.  It is simple and quick, but what a fun way to use all of the Dr. Seuss we love.
Random House brings us which is loaded with tons of awesome things.
The educators resources on the Seussville website are really great which even more lesson plans, activity ideas, events, newsletters and more to support Read Across America Day.
There are several Dr. Seuss books that can be listened to online.  I created a Padlet to bring these together.... You can go to this Padlet here.  And please...if you find another, add it to the Padlet to share with everyone.
I have seen Theodor Seuss Geisel's art work in several galleries over the years.  It is truly beautiful and so is the website that highlights The Art of Dr. Seuss
Did you know there is a Dr. Seuss National Memorial in Springfield, Massachusetts?  You can find out all about Dr. Seuss and the memorial here on the website.
Your students can create their Dr. Seuss book with the Seussville Story Maker featuring the characters from Horton Hears A Who!
We can't forgot all of the Dr. Seuss activities and resources featured on different Pinterest walls. This is one of my favorites here.

If there is something else that you have found, please let me know....I will add it to this list.

Have fun planning, creating and celebrating Dr. Seuss on Read Across America Day and all through the year.
