Get Ready To Celebrate World Read Aloud Day On February 5, 2025 With These Special Resources From Our Friends At LitWorld.

 

One of my favorite days every year is World Read Aloud Day presented by LitWorld.  This year it is on February 5, 2025. 

As shared on the World Read Aloud Day site, 

LitWorld founded World Read Aloud Day® (WRAD) in 2010 to celebrate the power of reading aloud to create community and amplify new stories, and to advocate for literacy as a foundational human right. Since then, WRAD has evolved into a global movement of millions of readers, writers, and listeners from across the world coming together to honor the joy and power of reading and continue expanding the definition and scope of global literacy.

Every year, World Read Aloud Day has been one of the top trending hashtags on Twitter, celebrated by millions of people in over 170 countries. From celebrities to students, WRAD brings us together as a global community of readers. As we celebrate WRAD’s 15th year anniversary, we invite you to join the party!

With World Read Aloud Day a month away, LitWorld has shared all kinds of wonderful resources for all to use as we plan our special day.  You can start by sharing this adorable image above that you will find here.  I printed this off and hung it throughout my school and posted it in our daily newsletter and on social too. 

Everyone can also celebrate World Read Aloud Day by becoming a 2025 WRADVOCATE.  You can sign up here and this flyer gives lots of ideas on what you can do to prepare for and celebrate World Read Aloud Day.

This is a great resource to print and share with others in your community too.  I shared it with my teachers, public librarian, parent group, families, and my friends.  Anyone can celebrate World Read Aloud Day so let's get everyone involved in this amazing celebration.
