It's Time To Nominate The 2019 AASL Social Media Superstars!

It's time to nominate the 2019 AASL Social Media Superstars!

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has opened nominations for its Social Media Superstars, which recognize outstanding social media users within the school library profession. These superstars enrich the profession and its work on behalf of students and school communities by sharing information, expertise, ideas, encouragement, dialog, and inspiration widely with stakeholders via a variety of social media channels.
In 2019, recognition will be awarded in eight categories: Advocacy Ambassador, Curriculum Champion, Leadership Luminary, Program Pioneer, Reader Leader, Sensational Student Voice, Social Justice Defender, and Tech Troubadour. Details about each category and recognition eligibility are available at www.ala.org/aasl/awards/superstar.
Any member of the school library community can nominate their peers for recognition. Nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on Fri., February 1, 2019. The Social Media Recognition Committee will review the nominations and announce finalists in each category on February 22. From February 22 through March 15, the public will be invited to post endorsements.
Superstars will be announced April 1, 2019, during a special School Library Month presentation. Recipients will also be recognized during the 2019 ALA Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
It is exciting to see two new Social Media Superstars added to the awards too.
I was so honored to be the AASL Leadership Luminary Social Media Superstar in 2018, along with this wonderful group of colleagues and friends.  And I can't wait to see who will be the AASL Social Media Superstars in 2019!
Please take some time to nominate the teacher librarians who have made an impact on you!  You will find the AASL Social Media Superstar Nomination Form here
