Our BOOKHUB & Virtual BOOKHUB For December! Our Monthly Read Aloud & eBook Program Using Books, Capstone Connect & CI eBooks For All Readers!

One of our favorite ways to share special books and celebrate reading is our monthly BOOKHUB Takeout Station.

Each month, we put together a new group of books that teachers can come pick up to read and share with their students.  You can read all about it, and find the signage I created in Canva, here in this post.
Here is our BOOKHUB Menu for December. You will find the Canva template here.

A few years ago, I thought it would also be found to create a Virtual BOOKHUB each month.

Capstone Connect is the perfect place to help me create too!
Capstone Connect is an amazing digital platform from our friends at Capstone that connects PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next, Capstone Interactive eBooks and teachers resources in one place with links to use that connect to each resource.
Let me show you how I put the our December Virtual BOOKHUB choice board.
First, I logged into our Capstone Connect
I searched Winter using the Title Search in Capstone Connect.
When I searched Winter, it gave me the results eBooks, PebbleGo articles and teacher resources.
For the choice board I created, I needed the book cover and link to the eBook.

To view the eBook, I clicked on All About Animals in Winter and the eBook...
...opened up in Capstone Interactive.  This let me view the eBook and also grab the cover image.
I then clicked on Copy Link and took it to the choice board.
I then went back to the You've Been Virtually Book'd For December choice board I created in Google Slides.  I added the screen shot of the book cover, clicked on the image, and added the link I copied to the image.
When our students and teachers click on the book covers, it will take them straight to the ebooks within Capstone Interactive.

We don't even have to login because by using Capstone Connect it takes us directly to the eBooks and PebbleGo resources every time.

We love our You've Been Book'd program and can't wait to celebrate reading in one more way with our students as we share our You've Been Virtually Book'd program every month!
I made a template for you to create your own You've Been Virtually Book'd For December.  If you have Capstone Interactive eBooks, you can find the link and add them to the book covers I have included in this choice board.
I also created this blank template for December to fill in with your own eBooks and choices for December.

You will find it here to make a copy, friends.

Winter Break Bingo Cards and Bookmarks...You Will Find Everything You Need To Use These With Your Students & Families Too!

With winter break starting next week, we created something special for our students and families to celebrate this time of year. It's called My Winter Break Bingo and I would like to share it with all of you to use with your library and school community.

First, I started by created two My Winter Break Bingo choice boards.
The first bingo card (found here to copy) has places for our students and families to connect with reading, learning, creating, cooking, exercise and fun. It doesn't include technology.

This is a great thing to print off to send home with everyone for winter break as it can be used at home or even if they are traveling for the holiday.
The second bingo card (found here to copy) has five of the same activities without technology, and three using technology including...
...the 12 Days of Making With Capstone Interactive choice board,
...the Elementary Coding Choice Boards.  Since we are using these three choice boards in December, they will be familiar to our students.
You will find the My Winter Break Bingo Google Slide that includes activities without technology here.
You will find the My Winter Break Bingo Google Slide that includes both here to download to copy or change.  And here is the link to share with students and families if you want to share it digitally.
I also added a QR code and bit.ly/2023winterbreak to make it super easy for everyone to use over winter break.  You will find this poster here to copy for your students.
In addition to making a copy of the Winter Break Bingo and sharing it online, I love making a bookmark every year as a special surprise for our students.  They all love bookmarks to use as they read, and really love it when they include places to go online to read, learn, make, code and more too.
You will find the Happy Winter Break, Friends Bookmark I created in Buncee/Capstone Create here.  You can make a copy or download to print.

I downloaded each side of the bookmark from Buncee and went to Overnight Prints.
They do such a wonderful job, so this is my go-to for printing bookmarks for our library.
You will find the link to get started with Bookmarks on Overnight Prints here.

I hope you find the Winter Break Bingo cards and bookmarks helpful and fun, friends.

The Winter Break Reading Bingo From Our Friends At Capstone Is Here! You Can Even Make Your Own With This Online Template & Winter Choice Board!

One of our favorite winter break activities to share with our students and families every year is the Winter Break Reading Bingo from our friends at Capstone

These are so much fun to share with our students as they get ready for winter break and anytime throughout the season.

Capstone has created three choices.
Winter Break Reading Bingo in English
Winter Break Reading Bingo in Spanish, and my favorite...
...the Create Your Own Winter Reading Bingo Card!
This one allows us to write in the blanks with the editable online version.  Once you have completed the blanks, just download and print.
You will find all three of the Winter Break Reading Bingo cards here where you can download them from the Capstone site.

I also love pairing up the Winter Break Reading Bingo with a little research about Winter in PebbleGo and reading with winter themed Capstone Interactive eBooks.

You will find the Let's Learn About Winter choice board here where you can make a copy and use with your students too.
