November is Picture Book Month!
Picture books are on of my most favorite things in the world. I love everything about a picture book. The illustrations, the story and words, the connections and conversation they bring to all readers, the relationships and friendships they help build, and so much more. In fact, since I was very young, I remember picture books holding such a special and important place in my heart and within my families too.
Our friends at Capstone have created this wonderful infographic to share the inspiration that picture books bring to all of us. It is called, The Magic of Picture Books.
As they shared in this blog post,
Picture books are a portal to another world. One where kids can explore the unfamiliar and learn new and exciting things. With vibrant illustrations combined with words and imagination, the magic picture books hold for children is anything but boring. But these enchanting book friends do so much more! Key statistics show how powerful and magical they can be in this infographic...
...The Magic of Picture Books.
You will find this amazing infographic here. To celebrate Picture Book Month at our school, I made a copy of this infographic for every teacher to hang up in their classroom as they use and celebrate picture books throughout November and all year long with their students.
And as shared at the end of the blog post on Capstone's site,
You don’t have to be a witch or wizard to understand the magic of picture books! Our illustrated friends provide so many benefits for early readers and let their imaginations soar! Looking for a more information on picture books?

I am also excited about 5 NEW picture books from our friends at Capstone that we will be celebrating in our library and school in November. They include...
My Sister Daisy,
Best Buddies,
Donut Worry and...
Mindful Mr. Sloth.
I will be featuring these 5 on my blog this month as we celebrate Picture Book Month. Check back in to learn more, friends.
I hope you have a special Picture Book Month too!
