On August 3 and 6, we held the very first Future Ready Librarian Virtual Summit.

...Mark Ray and I welcomed hundreds of librarians to join us virtually for two days.
Our friend and colleague, Britten Follett, who is the Executive Vice President of Follett School Solutions, helped us kick off each day with a special welcome and message.
On Day 1, Josh Stumpenhorst lead the opening with his keynote, Being a Librarian During a Pandemic.
In this video, Josh, Learning Commons Director, at Naperville Community Unit School District 203 (IL) digs into some ideas and strategies to maximize the value, purpose, and importance of our school libraries during these unprecedented times.
After Josh's keynote, we broke up into our concurrent sessions which focused on many topics our community voiced were important as we prepare for remote and blended learning this fall.
On Day 2, Adam Phyall lead our opening with his keynote, Making Your Space, Their Space.
In this video, Dr. Adam Phyall, Director of Technology and Media Services at Newton County (GA) addresses how to have resources and space that reflect students' diverse needs and interests. He explains how to provide stakeholders with a chance to have a voice in their media center.
Once again, we broke into concurrent sessions to share and learn around 6 more important topics.
It was amazing to see all of the wonderful resources and ideas being shared on our collaborative Padlet during the week of the Virtual Summit.

The conversations from the Summit will continue as we kick off a the new Future Ready Librarians Podcast Series with many of the presenters and guests later this month. I can't wait to dive deeper into the topics from the Summit and more.
A special thank you to Mark, Britten, Josh, Adam and all of those who presented and shared during the Future Ready Librarian Virtual Summit. It was the perfect way to kick off a new school year together.
