Last week, one of our 4th grade teachers asked me for some ideas for Genius Hour. She was starting this time with her students on Fridays and wanted to a variety of hands-on and digital activities and resources.
I pulled together lots of different things on this new Genius Hour Choice Board.
There are: Places to Read, Explore and Research; Places for Coding and Games; Places to Create and Design, and Virtual Makerspace, Art and Music.
I included our PebbleGo Suite that includes PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next, and Capstone Interactive eBooks. This is one of our students favorite places to go to read, explore and learn. They also love using Merge EDU on their Chromebook so I made sure to include that. They have Merge Cubes in their classroom they can use.
I included the various digital tools we use to create like PebbleGo Create, Abobe Express, Book Creator, StoryboardThat, and Tinkercad.
Oh, and Breakout EDU! Of course, that is a favorite with our kids! They all have accounts set up.
There are several things on this choice board that are linked that everyone can use. You will find the Genius Hour Choice Board here to copy.
Feel free to copy and switch up however you would like to use it with your students. You can fill in resources and digital tools that you use too.
When you have it all set to share, just go to File, Share and Publish to Web.
