I love finding ways to integrate our amazing STEM and Makerspace materials and tools with our students’ learning experiences. There’s something magical about watching their creativity come to life when they have access to hands-on tools that let them build, experiment, and problem-solve.
This week, during their STEM class, I was thrilled to see students diving into a project using our 3DuxDesign kits to create their own cardboard houses. As I walked around, I noticed something even more exciting—they had brought out a ChompSaw to help them cut doors, windows, and other intricate shapes from their cardboard pieces.
It was such a great moment to witness! Not only was the ChompSaw a practical solution for shaping the materials, but it also empowered the students to think critically about how to approach the challenges in their project. They weren’t just following instructions—they were actively problem-solving, figuring out the best ways to construct their houses, and learning to use the right tools for each task.
Seeing this combination of creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning reminded me why STEM and Makerspaces are such powerful parts of education. The students weren’t just building cardboard houses—they were building confidence, collaboration skills, and a mindset for tackling challenges in imaginative ways.
