It's four days until the release of my new early chapter book series, ISTE Digital Explorers, with Capstone and ISTE.
Over the next four days, we will celebrate the first four books in this series.
Today, we celebrate Sonia Speaks Up.
Each book supports one of the ISTE Student Standards, which are highlighted in the back of each book.
Sonia Speaks Up supports the ISTE Student Standard: Digital Citizen.
Students will understand the importance of respecting others, staying safe online, safeguarding my well-being, and using technology responsibly in our connected world.
In the book, there are Words To Know, helpful tips to teach your students,
questions to Think About,
...and two activities including Create a Digital Citizenship Pledge and Make a Digital Citizenship Guide.
I also worked with my friends at Book Creator to create a wonderful Reading Companion for each book.
These amazing Reading Companions bring the ISTE Digital Explorers series to life through activities and projects that support and highlight the story, characters, and of course the ISTE Student Standard, Digital Citizen.
You will find the Sonia Speaks Up Reading Companion here in Book Creator.
I love how it brings the book to life with these activities where students can add...
...text, drawings, stickers, voice, video and more.
I can't wait to use Sonia Speaks Up with my students, and the Book Creator Reading Companion will be the perfect place to teach, practice and celebrate the skills of being a Digital Citizen.
I really love how they will get to create a poster using Book Creator just like Sonia and her friends do in the book. And they can even use Adobe Express to generate their avatar. They will love this part!
Also we created My Digital Citizenship Pledge to go along with the activity in the back of the book.
We will be kicking off the year with this one as we have every student create their pledge to start the new year.
You'll need a Book Creator account to remix the books into your own library.
And you will find the ISTE Digital Explorers at Capstone and on Titlewave too.
I can't wait to share Hagan Proudly Presents tomorrow, friends!
