This year at Van Meter, our technology team wanted to find a creative, meaningful and fun way to share tips, new technology and celebrate awesome ways our teachers and students are using tech by connecting to curriculum, through innovation and by making global connections.
We decided it would be awesome to create a newsletter from the four of us that we could all contribute to throughout the year. It is called Tech Talk! From Your VM Tech Team.
Each month we will feature a Tech Tip, Tech to Try and Monthly VM Tech Highlight.
This month we are excited to mention Slides Carnival...
...and Flipgrid. There are QR codes to each tool and resource to make it easy to find and use right away in the classrooms too.
We will also be giving shout outs to our teachers and students through the Monthly VM Tech Highlight and this month is goes out to Megan Warwick, who teaches 2nd grade at Van Meter. She is our September highlight with her Skype in the Classroom connection to their new pen pals in update New York.
Way to go, Megan!

We shared Tech Talk! with our entire community through email, Facebook and our school and personal social networks.
And, we had something super fun for inside of our staff restrooms.
For inside of our staff restrooms, we changed Tech Talk to Potty PD! From Your Tech Team, with a little twists on the Bitmoji's too.
It was great to hear that our colleagues enjoyed the newsletter and several asked about using these tools within their classrooms too.
A new Tech Talk! will come out each month. We will make sure to share them with all of you too.
How do you share technology news and resources with your staff? How do you share them with the entire school community. We would love to know!
Love this! What did you use to create Tech Talk?
