Celebrate & Learn About Diwali Starting On October 31, 2024 With This Choice Board & Resources!

 

This week starts Diwali. It is celebrated this year on October 31, 2024 this year and continues for 5 days.

Diwali is a festival celebrated during the Hindu month of Kartika, which falls in October or November. Diwali is also called the Festival of Lights. It is India's biggest, most important holiday. Diwali lasts five days and started as a harvest festival. Today, it is celebrated by almost all Indians, regardless of faith. It is seen as a celebration of good triumphing over evil.

I love finding new books to add to our library.  It's one of my favorite things about being a librarian.  Our readers get so excited when they see new books on the shelves. 

This week, I was working on a fall order in Titlewave and needed a little inspiration and some new book ideas.  

I remembered that I saw a post from our friends at Follett Content about the Best New Books for Grades PreK-8 so I went back to the post to check it out. WOW! The list is filled with amazing new book selections for all of our readers.  In fact, there are over 800 amazing books on this list.
