4 Flipgrid Live Events In July For Our Families & Students With Harper Alley Authors & Illustrators To Share Today!

We love the Flip (Flipgrid) Live Events!  These special events have brought so many amazing experiences to our teachers and students in preschool to 12th grade at Van Meter School in Iowa.

We love tuning in each week to learn, connect and join the Flip Live Events with experts, authors, illustrators, publishers, change makers, organizations, entertainers and so much more.  We appreciate all of the work our friend, Iro Stefopoulou, and her team put into bringing these events to all of us.

There is always something for everyone!

In fact, coming up on the week of July 18, 2022, there are four special Flip Live Events for our families with authors and illustrators from Harper Alley. They include...
These are going to be so fun, educational and inspiring. They will give young people and their families a chance to create, learn and come together with others this summer for something very special.

You will find these four events, and other upcoming and past events, here on the Flip Live Events site.
I shared this slide at the top of this post and that link with our families on the library and school website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Feel free to share that image and information with your community too.

BIG News For DOT DAY 2022 From FlipFest At ISTE! Check Out The NEWS Here, Friends!

One of the BEST things that happened at ISTE was an announcement that happened at the FlipFest Monday night.

My dear friends, Peter and Paul Reynolds, along with Iro from Microsoft, announced that International Dot Day 2022 will be live streamed from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City with the Flipgrid Live Events Team.

WOW! I was so excited when I heard this news!
It will even include a sneak peak at the NEW Dot-based musical, Creatrilogy...The Musical, by Theater Works USA.
This is going to such an extra special Dot Day and one that we will celebrate at our school and with others around the world. You will also find how to connect to other schools and students in this post about Dot Day Connections 2022.

We can't wait to celebrate with Peter and Paul, and all of YOU! Dot Day is the perfect celebration to kick off the new school year and one that will be an amazing year.

Let's Celebrate Dot Day 2022 By Connecting Here and Making Our Mark On The World!

International Dot Day is always one of my favorite days (weeks) of the year.  It is a special time to celebrate all of us making our unique mark on the world.

As we look forward to Dot Day which is always celebrated on September 15ish, we start thinking about and planning lots of special connections and celebrations with other libraries, classrooms, communities and especially our students around the world.

And even though Dot Day might look a little different this year, just think of all of the exciting and meaningful new ways we can celebrate and connect for this special day and throughout the week.
Every year we put together this collaborative Dot Day Google Doc so we can start sharing our schedules and connecting the dots with others.
Please join us in celebrating Dot Day by joining in on the fun and connecting your own dots at the Google Doc that you will find here.

You can add your name, schedule, grade levels, locations and any other information that will be helpful as you make Dot Day plans.
Also, as you think ahead to what your Dot Day might look like with your library and school community, here are a few helpful resources to get you started.
I brought together all kinds of resources, songs, project ideas, books and other fun in this Dot Day Collection.  You will find it here.
Look at all of these wonderful books about Dots!  Please add others with dots to the Padlet here too.
You can also follow the Dot Day Pinterest Board, which we continue to add resources too.

I can't wait to celebrate Dot Day with all of you in September.  This is such a special way to kick off a new year of creating, connecting and collaborating with our students, families, teachers, communities and with others around the world.
