We Kicked Off Season 2 of the "Leading from the Library Podcast" With Karyn Lewis...Connecting Readers and Authors

I am so excited to share that we have kicked off Season 2 of the Future Ready Librarian podcast series, Leading from the Library.

My first guest is Karyn Lewis, teacher librarian at Memorial Parkway Junior High in Katy, Texas and my dear friend. I have loved following Karyn's work as a teacher librarian and the passion she has for connecting her students to authors is amazing.

As we shared on the podcast site,

One thing that Karyn Lewis knew how to do well before the pandemic was virtual author visits, so when the lockdown happened, she immediately tried to find ways to connect her students to authors! She knew she could find authors who were willing to talk with her readers, she could spark an interest in reading and get them excited about books again. She was lucky enough to reach out to Varsha Bajaj, Joelle Charbonneau, Jennifer Neilsen, and Jen Calonita, who all agreed to visit with different groups of students from her school along with others in the district. And with her favorite day of the year coming up - WORLD READ ALOUD DAY - where she loves to pack as many author visits into one day as possible! They have met so many amazing authors, without anyone having to travel at all!

Listen to her inspiring story and learn how you can do this within your library and community too.
You will find the Connecting Readers and Authors podcast here on the Leading from the Library page from the Future Ready website.

I know you will find our conversation inspiration and full of helpful tips in connecting your readers too.

You can follow Karyn at @ktlewis14 and @mpjhlibrary.

Thank you, friends.  Let me know if you would like to be a guest on Leading from the Library.  I would love to have you.
