With back-to-school time in full swing, I would love to share how you can bring digital literacy to life with my new series, ISTE Digital Explorers and several amazing activities created in partnership with Kami, Book Creator and Breakout EDU.
My friends at Kami and I have teamed up to create a very special collection of free activities.
At ISTELive25, I was thrilled to debut the new activities alongside my amazing Kami friend, Sophie Youngs.
With four brand-new books launching at the conference, Kami designed a variety of meaningful and engaging activities that empower students to show, create, and tell what they know—all inspired by the stories and learning in the books.
The activities they created complement the books with activities to support the ISTE Student Standards and task that each story takes on within the series.
For each, in Hagan Proudly Presents, Hagan and his classmates research for an animal project they are working on in school. The Kami template Our Research Adventure is the perfect way to support our students in their research and discovery. It will be so much fun.
I can't wait to use the Kami templates with the Book Creator Reading Companions we created for each book too.
Take a look inside of the Reading Companion for Hagan Proudly Presents to see the Create a Favorite Animal Presentation.
After they gather their information in Kami, they can use Book Creator to create a favorite animal presentation with text, images, videos, drawings, and so much more. The free activities in Kami Library can be found here or by scanning the QR code above.
Also, my friends at Breakout EDU created a new digital Breakout game called Sonia and the Power of Positive!
As shared in the game, Sonia is excited to share her art in the school's Digital Art Gallery. She is also a bit nervous. Last time she peeked at the gallery, she saw some not-so-nice commnets on other students' art.
You can check it out at Breakout EDU here. I can't wait for my students to play this one!
I know you’re going to love these amazing activities and projects from Kami, Book Creator, Breakout EDU, and me—designed to spark creativity, build digital and media literacy skills, and inspire so much more.
