Have You Seen The Barefoot Book of Children? It Is One For Your Library, Classroom and Home Too.

One of the most beautiful books I have on our library shelves at home is The Barefoot Book of Children.
This book is written by Tessa Strickland and Kate DePalma...
and illustrated by David Dean.

It is a beautiful story of children around the world in brightly colored, detailed painted illustrations and amazing content that connects all of us to this story.
As the Barefoot Books website states,

Empower tomorrow's global citizens to grasp today's critical social issues with The Barefoot Book of Children. Hand-painted illustrations and straightforward text directly engage the reader, inviting children to ask themselves: How do other children live? How are we different? And most importantly: How are we alike? The Barefoot Book of Children is a playful, powerful and thought-provoking celebration of both the big ideas and the everyday moments that reveal our common humanity and tie us all together.

Take a look at a few of the powerful and playful pages inside....
And I absolutely love the 15 pages of educational notes in the back!

This could be used for so many conversation, projects and lessons throughout the curriculum.
This book will serve as a starting point for important conversations around inclusivity, acceptance and diversity in your home, library and classroom.

It is an important book filled with things that show how all of us are tied together through everyday moments, celebrations and commonalities that make us who we are as human...and individuals.
