Celebrating Women's History Month With This AWESOME PebbleGo Site and Activities!

During Women's History Month in March, our friends at Capstone have created a special place for us to go with our students to discover great women from history.

As the site shares,

Your K-3 students love learning all they can about historic figures, and Women's History Month is a wonderful time to introduce them to amazing women throughout history. But, it can be hard for students to relate to them when they're looking at a lifetime's worth of accomplishments that happened years ago.

We created an engaging quiz and activities so students could learn about women who did amazing things—and shared similar interests to the students themselves!

And if you don't subscribe to PebbleGo Biographies, you can sign up for free access to select articles the entire month of March here

Let's take a look at what Capstone has created to celebrate Women's History Month.
There is a list of things that we can do....it is included here on the site
First, you can access all of the articles on women within the PebbleGo Biographies module and Women category.  Here is where your students will find lots of women featured from Athletes, Civil Right Leaders, Explorers, First Ladies, Scientists, Teachers and Helpers, and more.
Students can take the Great Women from History quiz Capstone created for students.  They can take this quiz to learn more about important women in history and how their interests relate to them.
I took the quiz and was so excited to learn that I have things in common with Eleanor Roosevelt.

When my Great Woman From History came up after I took the quiz, at the bottom it even let me go right to PebbleGo to read and learn more about Mrs. Roosevelt and I even found...
...this Share With I Know sheet to fill out too.  Our students love drawing and writing what they are researching, reading and learning in PebbleGo.
In addition to the quiz, Capstone has created lesson plans and other downloadables that make it quick and easy to to tie this into the classroom and library.

Check out what they have for all of us....
Here are several PebbleGo Lesson Plans that are all new, engaging and fun!
We love the PebbleGo Lesson Plans!  They are very easy to implement and have all of the materials needed.
There are also six Share What You Know that go along with the women found in the Great Women From History quiz. These are the same attachments that you will find within each PebbleGo Biography featured.
As we get ready to use this with our students at Van Meter,
I printed off the posters Capstone has included.
They are so neat and include photographs and questions that will get students thinking about and discussing various topics associated with Women's History Month.
As you use this site and resources with your community, Capstone has provided us with images for Facebook and Twitter.  I find this super helpful in sharing it on our library Facebook and Twitter.

And as you share pictures and stories of using it within your school community, make sure you use @CapstonePub #PebbleGo and #WomensHistoryMonth too.
