Our Fifth Graders Did An Awesome Job Sharing Their Olympic Research Projects This Week

Over the last month, the fifth graders have been researching the Olympics, collaborating with friends, and creating amazing projects in "Project 3D Olympics".

They learned more about the different steps of research and how to develop their own essential questions in research.  Also, they were able to use digital tools and apps new to them and ones they have used before.  It was one of their favorite pieces of this project because they could pick and choose the combinations of digital tools.

When they presented this week we saw projects created with a combination of Tellagami, Piktochart, StoryBird, Yahki, ReciteThis, Pinwords, FlipSnack, Smore, Animoto, Buncee, Google Drive, and others.

By sharing their projects, they were able to share what they discovered unique to their research.  This brought wonderful conversations and feedback from their friends.  

When their projects were complete, each group added their project to this Padlet.  You can see all of the projects at the bottom of this post as well.  

We will be adding all the rest of the projects next week.  

The fifth graders have also been developing their 3D Olympic symbols using Tinkercad and Blokify. Next week, they will start printing these on our MakerBot 3D printer.  

They will be displaying their new symbols in the library and share them online.  

We can't wait to share all of the new ideas with all you too.
