Introducing "Pass the Note"....A New FREE Tool From Follett Content To Help Librarians and Educators Easily Find and Share Books For Our Libraries and Classrooms! You Will Love It, Friends!

Our friends at Follett Content just released a free new tool called Pass the Note!  

I couldn't wait to check this out as it will help us find and share books for our school or classroom library.

Pass the Note will help us...

...create resource lists and presentations from lists the Follett Content experts have created for our libraries and classrooms.  We have multiple formates to choose from including Presentation, Curricular Recommendations, and Reading Lists.

On this page, we can review the Topic Pages to find a list that fits our specific needs.  As you can see, there are so many essential and important topics to choose from on this page. 

Let's pick one! 

I clicked on Read-Aloud Books.  

It opened up into the Read-Aloud Books for Grades 1-2.  On each topic page, there is information on the importance of this type of resource, which I find super helpful.  You will also see that you can do a lot within the page. 

For example, you can pick a title and read all about the book, see reviews, find teacher resources, and more.  

You can even add it to a Titlewave list.  I had a lot of fun using this topic list to do just that today. 

Here is where Pass the Note! come into the picture! 

On each topic list page, you will find this button that says Pass the Note! 

When you click on that, this PDF exporter for books and hands-on learning resources gives you three options including Presentation, Recommend a Reading List for Students, and Provide Curriculum Recommendations. 

I started with the Presentation....

...by selecting what books I wanted to include in the PDF presentation.  

When I was done, I got a little note and went to my email to find...

...the presentation ready to go.  It included a title slide, information, and...

...the books I selected to include.  This will be so amazing to use as I present ideas for book titles and resources to my teachers, parent group, and others.  

Next, I selected Recommend a Reading List for Students and built a reading list using the same type of...

...choices as the first one.  

This is great for recommending books for students to read at home. I am going to create one to share with our families and students for the holiday break.  

And the last one is Provide Curriculum Recommendations which builds a list of books to share with others when considering new titles for the classroom and that fit into the curriculum. 

After selecting a few of the titles from the list, 

...it created a great list of Curriculum Recommendations, and even includes...

Free Teacher Resources, reading levels, a summary, and more. 

I love the little Notes box at the bottom too. That will be helpful as I use these lists as I collaborate and work with the teachers at my school. 

I can't wait to share Pass the Note with our teachers in preschool-12th grade at my school.  This is going to be such a helpful and powerful tool for us in the library and classroom in so many ways, especially in getting wonderful books into the hands of our readers, into the classrooms, and onto the library shelves.
