We have just a few more days until April. This is not only the start of a new month, it is also the month that we celebrate poetry focusing on the fun, play, rhyme and rhythm of words.
One of our favorite days to celebrate during Poetry Month is Poem In Your Pocket Day on April 21.
I created little paper pockets for several very special poems last week and shared them on my blog, along with several ideas for celebrating. You can find them all here. All you have to do is print them off, cut them apart, and get them into the hands and pockets of our kids.
We are going to celebrate on April 25, because we have scheduled something very special to go along with this day.
Emily Arrow will be sharing her beautiful song, Poem In Your Pocket.
Blake Hoena will talk about poetry and share from the Cantata Learning books he wrote....Maybe even from one of our brand new favorites, The Muffin Man.
Mrs. P and Robert Forbes will create, share, and talk about poetry.
It is going to be one of the BEST Poem In Your Pocket Day events ever! And to make it even better...We have invited six classrooms to connect in the Google Hangout with us too.
There will be schools from Iowa, Colorado, Texas, and Virginia.
Our Poem In Your Pocket Day GHO will be broadcasted LIVE on April 25, 11:30-12:00pm.
You will be able to follow this link and watch the GHO too.
And make sure you also have a Poem In Your Pocket. You may have a chance to share these with our special guests and your classmates and teachers.
