Earlier this week I was checking out all of the wonderful resources from PBS.
Lately, I have been addicted to the PBS Design Squad so have been spending lots of time there.
There is always something new though and this time I was so excited to find something awesome from PBS LearningMedia.
The headline in the green box caught my eye...
New Student Portal and Productivity Tools....PBS LearningMedia now offers a student learning portal and a suite of productivity tools for teachers. These new features make it easy to create personalized learning experiences for students to explore inside or outside of the classroom.
I am always looking for new ways to engage students and create personalized learning experiences for our learners. I couldn't wait to see what PBS LearningMedia had created!
There is a suite of Productivity Tools For Teachers including Lesson Builder, Quiz Maker, Storyboard and Puzzle Builder. These tools make it easy to create engaging student assignments, personalize learning and track student progress.
Teachers can sign up for free in the PBS LearningMedia portal.
Once you are logged in, you will be in the Main Dashboard and will be able to manage the Tools, your Assignments, Folders, Favorites and Profile from this spot.
They have made creating with these productivity tools very simple by including easy to follow directions and a video that walks one through the process.
You can create a Digital Lesson...Digital Storyboard,
which can be a Class Storyboard or Student Storyboard...
Digital Puzzle...
and Quiz Maker.
You can create Assignments for your students in which they can complete and turn in digitally.
These Assignments can be organized within Folders that you set up. This makes the management of using these tools to set up personalized learning experiences for your students positive, organized and fun. This is the Student View within PBS LearningMedia. They sign up with a Code that the teacher gives them. You can see the tool bar across the top that says My Stuff, which holds their Assignments, Projects and Favorites.
For example, when they Begin as Assignment, they enter the code that their teacher gives them. The teachers gets this code after an assignment is started.
Also, don't forget to check out all of the resources that PBS LearningMedia has for students. Another one of my favorites is No Nonsense Grammar which explores different grammar principles for elementary and middle schoolers with short, fun videos and activities.
So check all of these awesome things from PBS LearningMedia out today. I can't wait to hear how you use them within your library and classroom too!
