A Read Across America Collection Full Of Resources, Crafts, Projects, Stories and Fun!

As we get ready to celebrate Read Across America on March 2, 2018, here is a Collection by Destiny filled with resources, projects, crafts, stories and a whole lot of fun.  

You will find the Read Across America Collection here. 

The Collection includes the Read Across America Google Doc. that we created as a place for all of us to make connections and plans for this special day.  It is at the top in the left hand corner of the Collection.

Did you know that Dr. Seuss wrote over 50 books?  

You will find a lot of them in this awesome Titlewave List in the Collection and here. 

If there are other resources we should add, please let me know.  I can add them or I can add you as a collaborator to the Collection.

The 2018 Winter Olympics Collection Is Here!

I have always loved watching the Olympics, especially the Winter Olympics with the ice skating and skiing and of course, the bobsleigh!  

With the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics right around the corner on February 9-25, we are getting ready to follow along and celebrate the accomplishments of these amazing athletes from around the world. 

Not only is the main PyeongChang 2018 website awesome to use, there are lot of other ways to bring the Winter Olympics to your school community. 

For example, one of my favorite projects we did focusing on the 2014 Winter Olympics was the 3D Project Olympics where our 5th graders research and designed their very own new Olympic symbol with 3D tools and the printer.

Here Is The Google Doc To Make Connections and Plans For Read Across America Day!

On March 2, 2018, we will celebrate Read Across America with others across the United States.

This is the 20th year we celebrate Read Across America, which focuses on motivating children and teens to read through amazing events, partnerships and reading resources.

As we take part in this wonderful program to build a nation of readers, let’s come together to celebrate and read with other students, teacher librarians, teachers, schools and communities online on March 2.  

On the Read Across America Google Doc, you can find and connect with other librarians, teachers and communities who are celebrating Read Across America too.  The guidelines for using the Google Doc are posted at the top.

If you are interested in connecting with others on this day, please add your name, contact info, occupation, school, location, schedule, and ideas to the information below.  To support our connections, let’s group our schedules by time zones. If your timezone is not represented, please add it as a heading  and we will update the table of contents.  Look for others to connect with and sign up on their schedules too.  Be sure to use your name and contact information when you sign up on others’ schedules.
